Do you want to set up a Zoom call with your child’s classmate, but don’t know their number? The Beverly PTA website has an online directory that may have that information! Regularly, this feature is for PTA member only, but the we want to encourage everyone to stay in touch and support each other during this time, so we are opening this directory access to all Beverly families whether you are a PTA member or not, through July 31.

What this means for you: By entering your information in, your child's classmates' parents have a way to contact you! Virtual playdates, anyone? All you need to do is to create an account in our Beverly PTA website and input your info. Click here for detailed instruction.

If you already have an account, click here to access the directory. (must login first)

ATTENTION: Please try to periodically check our Beverly PTA Facebook page for updates and refer your other Beverly family friends to it. Information goes out there more quickly than in our enews. Thank you!

ALL PTA EVENTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED OR ALTERED FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING THROUGH THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.
We are working hard to see if any events can be replaced digitally, and will inform parents of any updates. If you would like to be involved in helping put together a digital replacement event for one of the spring events your child was looking forward to, please email volunteers@beverlypta.com to express your interest.

We are aware that parents have paid for Field Day t-shirts, Online Auction teacher experiences, yearbooks, etc., and want to address that:

• Field Day t-shirts were ordered and delivered to the school before school closures were announced. We will distribute those to the students when district and government policies make it possible.

• Yearbooks sales ended before Spring Break and the printing order was placed before Governor Abbott closed schools for the remainder of the school year. We will distribute yearbooks to the students when district and government policies make it possible. We will have extra yearbooks for sale if you forgot to order yours. If you are interested in one of those extra yearbooks, please get your name on the list by emailing yearbook@beverlypta.com.

• Online Auction teacher experiences usually occur in the Spring before the school year is out. The staff members whose experiences you bid on and won will be in contact with you in the next few weeks to discuss what will work best for your family under social distancing (postponement until next school year, alter the experience for social distancing, etc.). You may also reach out to them by email at your convenience if you would like to work it out sooner rather than later. Contact us at auction@beverlypta.com if you have any question.

Thank you so much for your understanding and support!

Our school supplies team has been working hard to make prices for teacher-selected school supplies as low as possible. We will be finalizing these lists and opening up school supply orders in the next couple of weeks. In the past, PTA markup and profit on school supply packs has been very low compared to many PTAs. In an effort to serve our families even better and  in response to the financial and emotional stress on our families from COVID-19, for this year only PTA will not make any profit on school supply kits. This means we will sell them to you at the price the vendor sells them to us. We hope you will use the savings to select a donation on the school supply order page so that PTA may provide extra school kits to teachers to distribute to students in need next year.

How to Access the Beverly Online Directory

The Beverly PTA website has an online directory! By accessing this directory, you can contact other parents and set up virtual playdates! Regularly, this feature is only for PTA member only, but the we want to encourage everyone to stay in touch and support each other during this time, so we are opening this directory access to all Beverly families whether you are a PTA member or not, through July 31. If you wish to be able to see the contact information for your child’s friends, please follow these steps:

Here is how to access the directory:
Log in to your account on www.beverlypta.com,
- In the top Menu under the Bobcat header picture, go to “Resources”, then in the drop down menu under that, click “Directory".
- From there you can search for a name by entering it into the search fields, or you can scroll through all the entries alphabetically.

If you have never registered for an account on our PTA website:

  1. Go to www.beverlypta.com.
  2. Click “Login/Register” on the left navigation menu on the top yellow button.
  3. On the next page, click the green “Create Account” button.
  4. You will fill in the form on the following page with basic information to create your account.
  5. The website will send you an email with instructions to complete the process of registration.
  6. When you log in to the website after completing your registration, click on “My Account” on the top navigation menu (look at the white words on the dark background under the bobcat picture).
  7. Click on “Parent and Student Information” to fill in your family’s name and contact information. This info will only be shown on the directory if you choose it in the next step.
  8. Click on “Student Online Directory Preferences.” Here you will be asked if you want to have your information published in the directory, and then you can choose specifically which information you want included in the directory for other parents to view. We suggest at least including one parent’s name, the child’s name and grade, and a phone number and/or email address that you will regularly check so that your child’s friends’ parents can get in touch with you to set up online playdates, etc. Many students have different last names than their one of their parents, so this is why it’s good to also include the child’s name and grade.
  9. Begin searching the directory for your child’s friends and set up some virtual playdates! Get to know the other parents in your class!

If you already have a PTA website account but are not a member of the PTA:

  1. Make sure you have updated your information and opted in to the directory. (See steps below.)
  2. When you log in to the website after completing your registration, click on “My Account” on the top navigation menu (look at the white words on the dark background under the bobcat picture).
  3. Click on “Parent and Student Information” to fill in your family’s name and contact information. This info will only be shown on the directory if you choose it in the next step.
  4. Many students have different last names than one of their parents, so this is why it’s good to also include the child’s name and grade.
  5. Begin searching the directory for your child’s friends and set up some virtual playdates! Get to know the other parents in your class!

If you are a PTA member and have registered on our website and updated your directory preferences, proceed as usual!

Event Cancellation

In consultation with Ms. Savant and after seeing the precautions PISD and other government entities are taking, Beverly PTA will cancel all PTA-sponsored activities through May 1. Affected events include:

3/16— PTA Lifetime Membership Banquet
3/17—PTA Council Delegate Meeting
3/18—Workroom Wednesday
3/19—PTA Board Meeting
3/21—PTA Park Playdate
3/26—PTA General Meeting
3/27—Multicultural Night
4/1—Workroom Wednesday
....and all other scheduled events up to May 1.
We do not know if we will be able to reschedule any of these events this year. It will all depend on school closures and PISD recommendations.
Please refer to communication from the school and district if you are wondering about other non-PTA events on the calendar.

IMPORTANT: Please use the Beverly PTA Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/beverlyelementarypta) as a resource for community helping during this time. You do not have to be a PTA member to join the page. We hope people will reach out about needs (childcare, food, etc.) either through Facebook Messenger or through making or responding to posts so that we can all band together to help each other. Now is also a really good time to check on your neighbors (digitally or from a distance of 6-10 feet! ;)). We hope everyone stays safe and healthy!

We all have culture to share! Save the date for our Multicultural Night on March 26 at 6:30-8! Let's participate on this amazing event that showcase the beautiful diversity at Beverly. Here are some ways that you can help:

1. Sign up by hosting a country booth.  We will have the presentation area in the cafeteria with tables setup for countries' displays. Here are some ideas of things you can do: Dress in special traditional attire, provide food samples, share maps of your country, show interesting photos of the country's cultures, setup crafts for students/children to do, share holiday traditions, demonstrate music instruments, play/teach games, share art.  Those are just some ideas, but feel free to come up with yours too! Everyone is welcome to participate!

2. Sign up to perform at the event! Does your Beverly child sing, dance, do martial arts, or a part of other group that does performances from different cultures? This is a chance to show their talents!

3. Help and volunteer! We need volunteers to help out either before/during/after with set up and clean up.

Please contact diversity@beverlypta.com to sign up or if you have any questions!

If you have an incoming Kindergartener for Fall 2020, it's almost time to register them for Kindergarten! Come to Kindergarten Roundup on Friday, March 20, 9-11am and 1-3pm. Please also share with your friends or neighbors if they have incoming kindergarten students!

Field Day is coming soon on April 24! MOMS & DADS NEEDED! Please sign up for a shift (or two) to help with our Field Day! This school event is planned and hosted by our awesome PE Coaches. They work very hard every year to make this event super fun for the kids! The PTA will provide FREE LUNCH TO ALL VOLUNTEERS! Don't forget to submit your PISD background check here. All volunteers must have background check on file, and it can take up to 2 weeks to get cleared, so submit it now if you haven't!

We have a fabulous and incredibly experienced Field Day Coordinator this year, but she no longer has students at Beverly.  She continues to serve Beverly out of the goodness of her heart!

We would love for a current parent to start learning the ropes. This year we are looking for an Assistant Field Day Coordinator who could move into the coordinator position next year.

This is not a super-involved position because you are working with the PE coaches who have everything set up like a well-oiled machine! Please contact volunteers@beverlypta.com if you are interested or if you have any questions!

We need pictures from all grade levels and school clubs for our 2019-2020 Yearbook! Parents, if you have pictures from school events or your child's class or club events this year, please send it to pictures@beverlypta.com so your child's grade level can be represented in the yearbook! Thank you for those who have sent pictures. Keep them coming!
