Get important back-to-school information!

To get important back-to-school information:

*For more info directly from Beverly Elementary, go to their website and also like and sign up for notifications on their Facebook page.*

1. Update your ParentPortal!

This is the the system where you enter in your child's emergency contact and health information and sign other forms. Beverly needs us to all log in and update this so that they have your current email address and phone number. This is how they will be able to contact you to give further information.  https://www.pisd.edu/parentportalhelp

2. Read Beverly and Beverly PTA emails!

Beverly emails will come from Diane Barnett, the office manager, or Cindy Savant, our principal. Yesterday Ms. Barnett sent an email with lots of good information. Again, you won't be getting these if your ParentPortal info is out of date.

PTA emails will communicate info about purchasing kindergarten school supplies, spirit wear, and upcoming events. They will be clearly labeled that they are from Beverly PTA.

Please create a free account at www.beverlypta.com to be able to order materials and to receive these informational emails. And don't forget to join PTA! Not only will you provide monetary support to help us pay for curriculum and other necessities, but you will have access to the PTA directory (so you can contact your children's friends' parents, etc.).

3. Listen to phone calls from the school!

Our principal, Ms. Savant, recorded a call yesterday that went out to everyone whose info is updated on ParentPortal. (Details from the phone call and the email are in the comments of the pinned post on the Beverly PTA Facebook page.)

4. Read emails from Plano ISD!

PISD is continually updating general guidelines for schools returning (these emails will not have individual school information like assigned teachers and individual school protocols, but reading the info will help give you a general idea of the structure of school this year). You can view this information and more at www.pisd.edu.

The yearbooks are delivered to us and will be ready for picked up! Due to this unprecedented situation, our yearbook production company was a bit delayed in delivering our yearbooks, so it didn't make it on time for those grade levels who already picked up their student belongings on Tuesday and Wednesday. For 4th graders and 5th graders who ordered, they will be receiving the yearbooks along with their other belongings when they pickup today.

For other grade levels (K-3rd), we will have the yearbook ready to pick up TOMORROW, Friday May 22, 9-11am, at the Beverly front driveway. Please be ready to have a sign with your student's name. Due to time constraint, unfortunately K-3rd students who purchased yearbooks but have siblings in 4th and 5th will have to come back to get their copy on this day. We apologize if this delay has caused multiple pickup trips for you. We will also have limited number of extras ($40) for those who did not order but want to purchase. Please bring cash (exact change) or check written out to Beverly Elementary PTA.  If you have any question, please feel free to reach out to communications@beverlypta.com

Kindergarten registration for the 2020-21 school year is an online process and is now open. Students currently attending a Plano ISD pre-k program do not need to complete this enrollment process and will be contacted by the elementary school their child will attend. Click here for Enrollment packet and more information.  Email askpisd@pisd.edu if you have any questions about kindergarten registration.

Do you want to set up a Zoom call with your child’s classmate, but don’t know their number? The Beverly PTA website has an online directory that may have that information! Regularly, this feature is for PTA member only, but the we want to encourage everyone to stay in touch and support each other during this time, so we are opening this directory access to all Beverly families whether you are a PTA member or not, through July 31.

What this means for you: By entering your information in, your child's classmates' parents have a way to contact you! Virtual playdates, anyone? All you need to do is to create an account in our Beverly PTA website and input your info. Click here for detailed instruction.

If you already have an account, click here to access the directory. (must login first)

ATTENTION: Please try to periodically check our Beverly PTA Facebook page for updates and refer your other Beverly family friends to it. Information goes out there more quickly than in our enews. Thank you!

ALL PTA EVENTS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED OR ALTERED FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING THROUGH THE END OF THE SCHOOL YEAR.
We are working hard to see if any events can be replaced digitally, and will inform parents of any updates. If you would like to be involved in helping put together a digital replacement event for one of the spring events your child was looking forward to, please email volunteers@beverlypta.com to express your interest.

We are aware that parents have paid for Field Day t-shirts, Online Auction teacher experiences, yearbooks, etc., and want to address that:

• Field Day t-shirts were ordered and delivered to the school before school closures were announced. We will distribute those to the students when district and government policies make it possible.

• Yearbooks sales ended before Spring Break and the printing order was placed before Governor Abbott closed schools for the remainder of the school year. We will distribute yearbooks to the students when district and government policies make it possible. We will have extra yearbooks for sale if you forgot to order yours. If you are interested in one of those extra yearbooks, please get your name on the list by emailing yearbook@beverlypta.com.

• Online Auction teacher experiences usually occur in the Spring before the school year is out. The staff members whose experiences you bid on and won will be in contact with you in the next few weeks to discuss what will work best for your family under social distancing (postponement until next school year, alter the experience for social distancing, etc.). You may also reach out to them by email at your convenience if you would like to work it out sooner rather than later. Contact us at auction@beverlypta.com if you have any question.

Thank you so much for your understanding and support!

Our school supplies team has been working hard to make prices for teacher-selected school supplies as low as possible. We will be finalizing these lists and opening up school supply orders in the next couple of weeks. In the past, PTA markup and profit on school supply packs has been very low compared to many PTAs. In an effort to serve our families even better and  in response to the financial and emotional stress on our families from COVID-19, for this year only PTA will not make any profit on school supply kits. This means we will sell them to you at the price the vendor sells them to us. We hope you will use the savings to select a donation on the school supply order page so that PTA may provide extra school kits to teachers to distribute to students in need next year.
