Congratulations to the Beverly Volunteer of the Month!
June 2016: Cynthia Flores-Harris
Cynthia has been an extremely valuable Beverly parent for the last 11 years. She has a 10th grade former Bobcat and a 5th grade Bobcat. She has held almost every PTA position imaginable over those years, but what makes her special is how far above and beyond she has gone to help anyone and everyone at Beverly. She either chairs or pitches in to help at every single Beverly event – whether it’s Walk-A-Thon, Book Fair, Field Day, Fifth Grade Graduations, Health and Safety Fair, Multicultural Night, Hospitality Events, Online Auction, Teacher birthdays, STOP meetings, Music Club, etc. It’s always guaranteed that Cynthia will be there either organizing or working with a smile on her face. These events are in addition to the countless hours she has spent over the years doing hallway work and grade level projects, lunch duty, craft projects for music programs, and anything else that could possibly need to be done. She has especially made a huge difference in the lives of those less fortunate in PISD by chairing the Community Outreach position at Beverly. She has coordinated efforts to supply backpacks, school supplies, Christmas gifts, and hygiene kits for needy students in Plano. She provides teacher appreciation luncheons for the staff at our sister school, Christie Elementary, and she has spent hours at a laundromat washing and drying the unclaimed clothing from the Beverly Lost and Found so that they are clean and fresh when donated to a child in need. Most recently, Cynthia organized, shopped for, and solicited donations for the beautiful retirement reception held last week for Ms. Kirby. The reception would not have been possible without her efforts. Please take a moment to thank Cynthia for her selfless dedication to Beverly over the years. Cynthia, YOU WILL BE MISSED
